Ralph Huey Petry

Ralph Huey Petry, 87, of Westlake died at 8:30 AM on Wednesday, June 15, 2011 in a local hospital.

Mr. Petry was born in Andrew, LA on January 16, 1924 and moved to Westlake in 1941. He was a truck driver many years ago before becoming the owner and operator of Petry's Carpet Cleaning. Mr. Petry attended many local Pentecostal Churches.

He was an avid gardener.

Those left to cherish his memory are his three siblings, Marjorie Wanda Long of Moss Bluff, Granvil Dale Petry and wife Pam of Topsy, and Artie Petry and wife Martha of Sulphur; two step sons, Glen Bushnell and wife Donna and Van Bushnell and wife Claudia; a step daughter, Judy Welch; numerous step grandchildren and step great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, India and John Petry; his first wife, Ama Petry; his second wife, Ella Fontenot Petry; and a brother, Kenneth Lamar Petry.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 17, 2011 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Terry Bushnell will officiate. Burial will be at Westlake Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and will continue on Friday from 8:00 AM until time of services.
