Ralph John Sittig

Ralph John Sittig, 76, of Sulphur passed away on April 7, 2019 in a local care center. He proudly served his country in the Army Infantry from 59-68, including one year in Vietnam with the 196^th Light Infantry Brigade. He drove his own 18 wheeler truck for years, before going to work for Crowley Marine Transport for over 15 years, before getting hurt and having to retire.  Ralph enjoyed farming, raising cattle and bees. He had race horses, and planted a large garden of tomatoes, purple hull peas, and okra. Ralph was a big believer of living off the land.

Ralph is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Loretta Fox Sittig of Sulphur; three children, John Sittig, Jr. and wife Lisa Ann, Dwayne Sittig, and Bryan Howard Sittig and wife Shelby Nicole McFarland Sittig; 3 grandchildren, Julianna Sittig, Christopher Sittig and Sydney Sittig all of Dallas, TX; and 2 brothers, Arthur Lee Sittig and George Allan Sittig; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hilliard and Margaret Sittig; and his sibling, Hilliard “Bud” Sittig, Jr.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 11, 2019 at 4 P.M. at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home with Bro. Glen Barry officiating.
