Ramona Quirk

March 6, 1961 — June 20, 2013

Ramona Newton Quirk, 52, of Lake Charles, died Thursday, June 20, 2013, in a Lake Charles Hospital.


Mrs. Quirk was a native and life resident of the Lake Charles area. She was a graduate of Grand Lake High School. Mrs. Quirk was an active member of Christian World Church and was a three to five year old Sunday School Teacher for twenty-three years.


Mrs. Quirk was also a member of the Southwest Louisiana Bar Association Auxiliary.


She is survived by her husband of twenty-three years, Ward Three City Judge Tommy Quirk; one daughter, Amanda Stoddard Brassieur and her husband Jason; one son, Allen Gregg Stoddard both of Lake Charles; two step-daughters, Wendi Elizabeth Marcelle and her husband Clayton of Clear Lake, Texas and Christina Quirk Nordan and her husband Christopher of Lake Charles; her father, James C. Newton of Hemphill, TX; three brothers, Nolan Lonthier of Hemphill, TX, Daniel Lonthier of Sweetlake, LA and Reed Newton Of Sweetwater, TN.


She is also survived by nine grandchildren, Ethan and Samantha Brassieur, Madisyn and Colin Stoddard, Lindsey Felty, Bryce Marcelle, and Hannah, Emma, and Ava Nordan.


Mrs. Quirk was preceded in death by her mother Rosa Mae Trahan Newton and her brother Roland Lonthier.


Funeral services will be at 5:00 PM at Christian World, 2001 E. Gauthier Rd. Pastors Jerry and Hope Snider will officiate. Visitation will be at the church from 2:00 PM until time of services on Sunday. Burial will follow in Prien Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.
