Ramona T. Cormier, 91, of Sulphur, La died Tuesday, October 28, 2014 in a local care facility. Ramona was born on January 21, 1923 in Breaux Bridge, La to Arthur and Florence Cormier. She joined the U. S. Navy shortly after graduating from college in 1943. Her tour began July 31, 1943, after completion of basic training. She was transferred to many places from sea to sea. She retired years later as an ensign from the Navy first class. She thoroughly enjoyed serving her country in the Navy and was a proud veteran. She was a world traveler and wine connoisseur. She loved raising flowers and glass making. She spent many years teaching philosophy at various colleges and schools. She is survived by one sister, Lucille Darbone; nieces and nephews, David Trosclair, Peggy Langley, Donald Troslcair, Arthur Cormier III, Katherine Cormier, Theresa Cormier Wieclaw, and Melissa Ann Cormier Trahan; and many great nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death her parents and one brother. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, October 31, 2014 at St. Bernard Catholic Cemetery in Breaux Bridge, La. Father F. David Broussard will officiate services.
