Randal Stephen Randy Landry, 58, of Iowa passed away Saturday, June 29, 2013 in a local hospital.
Mr. Landry was born in Kinder, LA, and was a lifelong resident of Iowa. He was a graduate of Lacassine High School. He worked nearly twenty years as an Instrumentation Tech for United Gas Pipeline and the past seventeen years as a Fabricator with Epsco International. For fun, Mr. Landry enjoyed over fifteen years of bowling with the Friday Night Special and KC leagues. He took great pride in following his sons 4H and FFA functions, livestock shows and recently became his granddaughter's biggest fan as he followed her pageants and dance. Mr. Landry raised, bred and raced Quarter horses and was an active member of AQHA and LQHBA. He was an active member of St. Raphael Catholic Church where he was a member of Knights of Columbus Council #3006 and Monsignor Cramer's 4th Degree Knights. He was now a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Chapel, a founding member of the Knights of Columbus Council # 9281 and the first Grand Knight. Mr. Landry devoted much of his time and faith to the Catholic Church, was honored to serve as Eucharistic Minister, serve in the choir and teach many years of CCD.
He leaves to honor his memory, his wife of thirty-five years, Brenda Clement Landry of Iowa; three sons, Norris Hill and wife Amy of San Diego, CA, Christopher Joseph Landry and wife Susan of Sulphur and Marcus John Landry of Portland, OR; two grandchildren, Chloe Renee Landry of Sulphur and Adam Michael Hill of San Diego, CA; one brother, Lloyd James Landry and wife Linda of Lake Charles and two sisters, Glenda Dickerson and husband Gene of Moss Bluff and Patricia Melancon Reliford of Houston, TX.
He was preceded in death by his parents, L.J. and Rosa Belle Ardoin Landry.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Tuesday, July 02, 2013 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Lacassine. Father Roland Vaughn will officiate. Interment will follow in Lacassine Cemetery. Visitation Monday will be from 10:00 AM until 9:00 PM with a scripture service and rosary beginning at 6:00 PM. Visitation Tuesday will be from 8:00 AM until 9:15 AM in the funeral home.
