Randall Benoit

Randall Benoit, 41, of Sulphur passed away Wednesday January 18, 2012.

Mr. Benoit was a life long resident of Sulphur, LA and a 1988 graduate of Sulphur High School. He has served as a Deputy for the Calcasieu Parish Sherriff's Department since 1989 serving in the CPSO Jail, Patrol, Warrant Division, the Safe School Program, and at the time of his death he served in the Civil Division. Randall was also a member of the CPSO Bass Club. He had also worked for the Bureau of Prisons in Beaumont, TX. Randall was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Sulphur and Knights of Columbus Council #8978.

Survivors include his wife, Katherine (Kathy) Baker Benoit; one son, Joey Benoit both of Sulphur; stepson, Wasey Granger and wife Mica of Moss Bluff; stepdaughter, Whitney Granger of Sulphur; three grandchildren, Brenam and Corbin Granger and Daisyn LaComb; his parents, Joseph "Buddy" and Nancy Hardin Benoit; two brothers, Greg Benoit and Ray Benoit and wife Lisa all of Sulphur; and his Uncle Wayne Hardin of Houston. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, A. J. Benoit, Fanny Guidry, and Woodson Hardin.

His Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 AM, Saturday, January 21, 2012 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Sulphur. Reverend Edward Richard, Deacon Bud Wagner, and CPSO Chaplain Bart Leger will officiate. Burial will be in Royer Cemetery in Sulphur under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be Friday at the funeral home from 2:00 PM until 9:00 PM, with a Rosary at 6:00 PM and Cursillo Rosary at 6:45 PM. Visitation will continue Saturday from 8:00 AM until 10:00 AM at the Church.
