Randall Hayes Dickerson

Randall Hayes Dickerson, 82, of Ragley, LA, passed away at 6:10 PM on Thursday, June 30, 2022 in his residence.

Mr. Dickerson was born April 2, 1940 in Lake Charles, LA, where he was a lifelong resident, until moving to Ragley twenty years ago.  He was a graduate of Marion High School and worked as a Millwright for Alcoa Aluminum Plant over twenty-five years, retiring in 2002.  He was a member of the United Steelworkers Local.  Mr. Dickerson will be remembered as a hard worker with outstanding work ethics and a giving heart.  He enjoyed cooking and having family and friends over to share with.  Throughout the years, he was known as “Dad” and “Pawpaw” to many more than just his family.  He was greatly loved by many and will be missed dearly.

Mr. Dickerson is survived by his four sons, Joey Dickerson (Lisa) of Carlyss, Kenneth Adam Dickerson of Ragley, LA, Steve Dickerson (Heidi Wymer) of Lake Charles, and Keith Dickerson (Angela) of Lake Charles; grandchildren, James Dickerson, Julie Savell, Christopher Dickerson, Joshua Dickerson (Megan), Tyler Dickerson (Maggie), Alex Dickerson (Ashley), Jessica Jackson (Joe), and Taylor Guillory (Martin); twenty-two great-grandchildren, with another on the way; and four great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-nine years, Marjorie Cole Dickerson; parents, Rufus and Pauline Dickerson; four brothers; and one sister.

His funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 7, 2022 at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Ragley, LA.  Father Jeffrey Starkovich will officiate.  Burial will follow in Creel Memorial Gardens in Bel, LA.  Visitation will be at Johnson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff on Wednesday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with a Cursillo Rosary at 6:30 PM.  Visitation will continue on Thursday at the funeral home from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM.

The family would like to express a special word of thanks to Dr. Michael Broussard and his staff, to Heart of Hospice, especially Holly, and to his granddaughter, Julie for the excellent care and compassion given.
