Randolph Howerton

January 7, 1954 — December 8, 2024

The Family of Randolph Charles Howerton, affectionately known as Randy, announce his passing on December 8, 2024 after a brief illness. He was 70 years old.

A resident of Lake Charles, Louisiana most of his life, Randy was the only and beloved son of Virgil and Ethel (Veillon) Howerton, formerly of Ville Platte, Louisiana. Lake Charles was the family's home until Virgil was given a transfer with Conoco to Medford, Oklahoma. After a few years there, the family was able to return to Lake Charles where they made their home until their deaths.

Randy started school with his lifelong friend Paul Reed at St. Margaret's Catholic School and graduated from Medford High School, in Medford, OK in 1972. He was very proud to be one of the first employees of the first Walmart store in Lake Charles at the original location on Highway 14. He worked there until his retirement. He loved his three cats and volunteered at Hobo Hotel for Cats and Kittens.

Some of his friends left to cherish his memory are Paula and Paul Reed, Amanda and Kevin Chapman and their family, Tanya, Veillon cousins and a dozen Howerton cousins in Louisiana, Texas and Oklahoma.

Under the direction of Johnson's Funeral Home, Randy was cremated and buried next to his mom and dad in the Evangeline Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum in Ville Platte, Louisiana.
