Randy Champagne

Randy Champagne, 63, died Thursday, October 29, 2020, following a lengthy illness.

A lifelong resident of Lake Charles, Randy was a 1976 graduate of Barbe High School.  He worked for the City of Lake Charles for many years and was a member of Local 106 Pipefitters Union.  He enjoyed boating and attending car shows and races, and he especially loved Corvettes.  Randy was a kind man who lived a good life and loved his family and friends.

Randy came from a small family; those left to cherish his memory are his sister, Brenda Champagne Borne; his nephews, Matthew Ison and wife Kristen and Kaleb Borne and wife Kristina; and one great nephew, Collin Borne.   He was preceded in death by his parents, Elizabeth and Homer Champagne, Jr.

Randy’s family would like to thank Dr. Michael Turner and Anna C. Landry, NP, for the compassionate care that they faithfully devoted to Randy during the seventeen years of his illness.  They would also like to extend their gratitude to Amedisys Hospice, and most especially to his hospice nurse, Callie East, who far exceeded any expectations in her kindness and gentle care of Randy.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.

At Randy’s request, private funeral services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home.  Entombment was at Consolata Cemetery.
