Ray Allen Aucoin

Ray Allen Aucoin, 75, of Lake Charles, passed away December 28, 2022 at a local hospital.  He was born on April 1, 1947 on the Lacassine Bayou to his parents Allen and Rita Aucoin.

Ray was a graduate of LaGrange High School class of 1967.  He served in the United States Army during Vietnam in the infantry as a Sergeant E-5.  He retired from the Calcasieu Parish School Board after 33 years where he was the Director of Maintenance.

One of Ray’s passions was cars and especially drag racing.  Ray’s passion for drag racing was so great he was honored by being sponsored by Budweiser Racing for many years.  He also enjoyed classic cars, especially his own personal 1969 Camaro. 

Ray was an all around outstanding man with an amazingly generous heart that loved to help anyone with anything. 

He is survived by the love of his life and wife off 55 years Ruth (Nell) Soileau Aucoin, one son, Monty Aucoin and his wife Nashonna, two granddaughters, Lexi Aucoin and Morgan Williams, two grandsons, Noah Aucoin and Ashtean Aucoin, 3 Great grandchildren, one sister, Linda Fuselier, 2 God daughters Charlene Helton and Angie Fuselier plus a host of friends and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Monique Aucoin, his father in law and mother in law, Leroy and Beulah Soileau, his brother in law, Larry Fuselier and his best friend Bubba Buller.

Visitation for Ray will be Saturday, December 31, 2022 beginning at 10:00 A.M. at Johnson Funeral Home, 4321 Lake St. Lake Charles, LA. 70605. Funeral services will be Saturday, December 31, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. also at the funeral home. Burial and military honors will immediately follow at Prien Memorial Park Cemetery.
