Ray B. Hancock

Ray Blackshear Hancock, 73, of Lake Charles passed away on Friday, February 11, 2022.  Ray grew up in Westlake, LA and graduated from Marion High School in 1966.  When Ray was seventeen, he enlisted in the Navy and honorably served for 24 years, both active and reserve duty.  Ray met the love of his life, Trudy in April of 1970.  They married on August 8, 1970.  They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2020.  Ray faithfully supported his family.  He was a wonderful husband, father, and Granddad.  Ray loved people, his church, and going around the world telling people about Jesus.

Left to cherish his memory are, his wife, Trudy Bertrand Hancock; his daughters, Candace Pauline Louviere (David), Rachel Antoinette Rose (David); four grandchildren, Cassia Noelle Rose, Hallie Grace Rose, Gabriel Wayne Rose, and Campbell Brooke Louviere; two brothers, Robert Lewis Hancock (Toni) and Mark Anthony Hancock; two sisters, Alice Jean Moon (Don) and Cathy Pearl Lanier (David).

Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Everette Wayne Hancock, Sr. and Doris Minnie Mae Rodrigue Hancock; and his son, Mack David Hancock; his brothers, Everette Wayne Hancock, Jr., Rodrigue Allen Hancock and his sister, Mary Gertrude (Trudy) Thompson.

His funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 in the Trinity Baptist Church Central Venue.  Dr. David Rose will officiate.  Burial will follow in McFatter Cemetery in DeQuincy, LA at 3:00 PM under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.  Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Monday, February 14, 2022 at the church, and will continue on Tuesday morning from 9:00 AM until the start of the service.
