Ray John Poncho Cormier, 81 went to meet our Heavenly Father on July 27, 2013. Ray was born on June 9, 1932 and lived in Sulphur for the past 40 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church and the Bayou CCB Club. Ray worked and retired as an electrician for Gulf States Utilities. Ray is survived by his wife of 61years, Jane Cormier of Sulphur; children, Rocky Cormier and wife, Sarah; Patricia Evans and husband, Warren, and Denise Miller and husband, Lance; grandchildren, Crystal Deckert and husband, Brandon, Michael Miller and wife, Sunny, Trent Evans and wife, Johnnie, David Lovejoy and wife, Jessica and Elaina Navarre and husband, Dylan, Rocky Evans, and wife, Jessica and Courtney Fuselier and husband, Mike; brother, Earl Cormier; 17 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Maurice and Theresa Cormier and son, John Elliot. A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Sulphur with Father Thomas Huhn officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home from 4-9 p.m. with a Cursillo Rosary at 7 p.m.
