Ray Lee Gilbert

Ray Lee Gilbert, 91, passed away on October 12, 2022. He enjoyed reading, working cattle and training racehorses. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps serving during the Korean Conflict.

Ray Lee was married to Elaine Menard Gilbert on December 25, 1953. Together they had ten children, Cynthia Leigh, Mike (Kelly) Gilbert, Linda Carrier (Freddie), Glen Gilbert, Mark (Kristi) Gilbert, Doug (Lisa) Gilbert, Gayla (T-Bone) Bustamante and David (Lisa) Gilbert; 28 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine Menard Gilbert; parents, Ovey and Emitille Gilbert; and 2 sons, Louis and Jeffery Gilbert.

Visitation for Ray Lee will be held on Sunday, October 16, 2022 from 4-9 P.M. with a rosary at 7 P.M. recited by Justin Carrier. Visitation will resume on Monday, October 17, 2022 from 8-10 A.M. A graveside service will follow the visitation at Big Woods Cemetery officiated by Rev. Rob Tibbets.

Pallbearers will be Colt Gilbert, Justin Carrier, Cody Gilbert, Casey Bustamante, Jacob Gilbert and Seth Gilbert. Honorary pallbearers will be Blake Gilbert and Billy Leigh.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Knights of Columbus 6103 in Vinton  or the American Cancer Society in his name.
