Ray "Fruitcake" Collins 86 of Sulphur passed away on July 21, 2014 in a local hospital. Ray served his country in the U S Navy for a year then entered the Army where he served in the Korean Conflict. He never met a stranger and loved to feed people. Ray enjoyed his time in Holly Beach, fishing, his animals and raising his goats. He was fond of old western movies and loved his coffee, family, his grandchildren and going to church. Ray is survived by his children, Nanette "Tweetie" Drounette and husband Paul, Jeff Collins and wife Melissa, and James "Jiggs" Collins; grandchildren, Jesse and Brandon Collins, Erika, Dylan, Daniel, Paul Drounette, III, and Courtney Collins; great grandchildren, Kayla, Riley, Bryson, Faith Ann, Collin, Kaitlyn, Lannon, Kaylee and Maccie; and his companion, Cecile Cox. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerry and Emma Collins; wife, Billie Collins; great grandson, Justin and a brother, Curtis Collins. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Rob Tibbitts officiating. Burial will be in Hackberry Cemetery in Hackberry under the direction of Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 22, 2014 from 5-9 p.m. at the funeral home and will resume on Wednesday at 9 a.m. until time of the service.
