Raymond Aucoin

June 12, 1928 — July 22, 2018

Raymond Aucoin, 90, passed away on July 22, 2018. He was born on June 12, 1928, in Mamou, LA and raised in Hayes, LA.

 

Raymond was a banker for over 40 years, retiring from Bank One. He enjoyed hunting with his son Phil and friends. He coached Little League baseball with his son Don. Raymond was a faithful Rotarian for over 50 years in the Greater Lake Charles Rotary Club, serving as District Governor in 1976. He served with the 37th Infantry Division during combat in the Korean War. Raymond was a member of the Amicus Club, American Legion and Knights of Columbus, Council 3048.

 

Raymond is preceded in death by his parents, Hatley and Elizabeth Deshotel Aucoin.

 

Raymond is survived by his wife of 67 years, Ida Theriot Aucoin, along with his sons Phillip of Lake Charles, LA and Don of Houston, TX. He also leaves one granddaughter, Amanda Lamb (Nick) of Lake Charles.

 

Funeral services will be held at St. Margaret’s Catholic Church on Thursday, July 26, 2018, at 10:00 AM where Raymond was a life long member. Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 from 4-8PM at Johnson Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited at 6PM. Visitation will continue at the funeral home on Thursday morning from 8-9:30AM. Burial will follow at Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.

 

Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude, St. Margaret’s Catholic Church or to the charity of your choice.
