Raymond Delano

August 24, 1948 — August 1, 2020

Raymond Carl Delano, Sr. was born August 24, 1948 in Kentucky and was a life-long resident of Sulphur, La until he died on August 1, 2020 at a local area hospital.  He was married to the love of his life for 50 years, Cheryl (Domingue) Delano.  He is also survived by his children Monique Delano and Raymond Delano, Jr., as well as his granddaughter Acadia Delano, his sister Carolyn Waters and many nieces/nephews and great-nieces/great-nephews.  

Raymond graduated from Sulphur High School in 1967 and was a faithful Sulphur Tors fan all his life.  He served his country in the Army during the Vietnam War and worked for PPG for 35 years as a journeyman/pipefitter.  He is proceeded in death by his parents Frank and Corrine Delano, his Sister Marilyn Pierce, as well as brothers-in-law Cecil Douglas, Robley “Boo” Domingue and Johnny Waters.

Raymond had many passions among them were watching McNeese, LSU, and Saints Football, barbequing, fishing, and camping.  In his younger years, he played recreational football and baseball, and later learned to play golf. He was always, a generous and thoughtful man, who loved his family above all. Raymond’s favorite place was camping in Toledo Bend with his wife and long-time friends where he could fish, BBQ and enjoy the simple pleasures of life. The family will celebrate his life on November 21, 2020 in a private service in Lake Charles. For more information about the service, please contact members of the family.
