Raymond Emile Latour

Raymond Emile LaTour, 73, of Lake Charles passed away at 12:10 PM on Saturday, August 4, 2018 in Christus St. Patrick Hospital.

 

Mr. LaTour was born on November 12, 1944 in Lafayette and was raised in Mossville where he was a 1962 graduate of Mossville High School. He joined the US Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1966. He later married his wife of 49 years and began working for Firestone for the next 12 years before running a trucking company for 3 years. He then began a career as a salesman for Lake Charles Toyota and Lake Charles Dodge before retiring. Mr. LaTour was a devoted Catholic and very proud of his religion, attending and ministering to several local Catholic churches especially St. Henry and St. Margaret Catholic Church. He was a Eucharistic Minister and was involved in pastoral care.

 

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Jeanette Adams LaTour of Lake Charles; two daughters, Shirelle LaTour-Mercer (Byron) of Lake Charles and Sharon D. LaTour of League City, TX; grandson, Demoine Jordan Mercer of Lake Charles; four siblings, Patrick M. LaTour (Margo) of Richmond, TX, Felix D. LaTour (Emma) of Iowa, LA, Enola Margaret Pitre (Hurist) of Lake Charles, and Cecilia A. LaTour of Sulphur; brother-in-law, John Lavine of LeBleu Settlement; a brother-in-law and two sisters-in-law; and a host of nieces and nephews.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Lillie LaTour and a great niece, Nicole E. Thornton.

 

A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at St. Margaret Catholic Church. The Very Reverend Marcus Johnson will officiate. Burial will follow in Perkins Cemetery in Westlake under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will begin on Saturday from 8:00 AM until the start of the rosary at 10:00 AM followed by a procession to the church.

 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a local shelter or food bank of one’s choice.
