Raymond M. Clawson, 85, of Lake Charles died at 7:01 AM Thursday, April 9, 2015 in a local hospital. Mr. Clawson was born on July 05, 1929 in Wilburton, OK to the parents of Winnie and Frank Marion Clawson. He has lived in Lake Charles since 1935. He was a 1949 graduate of Lake Charles High School and a 1953 graduate of Louisiana Tech with a degree in Electrical Engineering. After graduation Raymond served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Clawson worked 33 years and retired from Cities Service/ Oxcidental as an Electrical Engineer where he was General Manager of several departments. He was a charter member and ruling elder and faithful member of the choir of St. Andrew Presbyterian Church. He was a member of the Committee on Ministries of Presbytery of South Louisiana. He was a member of the Engineering Society. Mr. Raymond loved his church and his loving family. In his spare time Mr. Clawson loved to spend time fishing and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife Margie Smith Clawson of Lake Charles, LA, two sons; Stephen Frank Clawson and his wife Donna of Port Aransas, TX, Bryan Raymond Clawson and wife Lisa of Katy, TX, two daughters; Denise Files and husband Jim of Youngsville, LA and Brenda Blood and husband Kevin of Katy, TX, nine grandchildren; Adele Mayeaux, Jacy Files, Amy Clawson and Ashley Clawson, Kyle Clawson, Loren Brouillette, Carley Gintz, Cale Brouillette, and Shannon Blood, six great grandchildren, nephew Buzzy Brunot and sister-in-law Dorothy Clawson. Mr. Clawson is preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Clawson, two brothers, Frank and Roy Clawson, two sisters, Gladys Marion Alexander and Helen Sweeney. His funeral will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at 1:00 PM at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church 4020 Hodges St. in Lake Charles. Pastor Nannette H. Cagney will officiate. Burial will be in the Sallier Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will begin on Friday at 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM in the funeral home. Visitation will continue at 9:00 AM Saturday at the church until the time of services.
