Raymond Paul "Ray" Slusher, 73, of Sulphur passed away on Tuesday, December 16, 2014. Ray was born February 4, 1941 in New Orleans to Paul and Myrtle Slusher. He graduated from Pineville High School and studied three years at Northwestern State University. He was retired from the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development where he worked in communications. Ray enjoyed reading and studying the Bible. He taught men's Sunday school at First Baptist Church in Sulphur. He loved music, mostly hymns. Ray is survived by his wife of 37 years, Ena Smith Slusher; his children, Stuart Slusher and Julie Cole; his stepdaughter, Carolyn (Dave) Sensat; seven grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. Ray is preceded in death by his parents; one son, Michael Slusher; and one stepson, Kenneth David Peloquin, Sr. Services for Ray will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2014 at 11 am at First Baptist Church of Sulphur with Reverend Andy Buckley officiating. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines South. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 19, 2014 from 5-9 pm at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home and resume on Saturday at the church from 9 until the time of service.
