Raymond R. Strausser

Raymond Robert Strausser, 82, of Moss Bluff, LA died at 12:15 AM on Monday, February 4, 2013 in a local hospital.

Mr. Strausser was born September 20, 1930 in Philadelphia, PA. He moved to the Lake Charles / Moss Bluff area in 1952 after his discharge from the U.S. Air Force. He retired from Conoco / Vista after over thirty years of service, where he worked as an operator / outside machinist. He attended Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church and was an avid fisherman who loved spending time outdoors.

Mr. Strausser is survived by his son, Michael Mike Strausser of Dallas, TX; brother, Richard Strausser of Winchendon, MA; loving companion, Justine McGee; and five loving nieces and one nephew.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen LeLux Strausser; parents, Raymond Herbert and Dorothy Lackman Strausser; and sisters, Dorothy Murphy and Edith Sherick.

His funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Father John Huckaby will officiate. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be at Johnson Funeral Home on Tuesday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a rosary at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Wednesday at the funeral home from 8:00 am to 10:40 AM.
