Raynell "Rae" Lee Rossett

Raynell “Rae” Lee Rossett, 71, of Ragley passed away on Sunday, January 14, 2024 in a Deridder care facility.

Raynell was born on February 18, 1952 in Gilmer, TX, lived most of her life in Ragley, and was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Gillis.

She loved and collected stuffed animals. Raynell could often be found watching the Wizard of Oz and Happy Days.  Her music of choice was from the 1950’s and 1960’s era.

Those left to cherish her memory are her mother, Julia Rossett of Ragley; sister, Jeanne Darbonne of Ragley; nephew, Joseph Honshul of Ragley; and nieces, Stephanie Higginbotham of Dequincy and Miranda Honshul (Rafelito Quinones) of Lake Charles.

She was preceded in death by her father, Millard Louis Rossett, Jr.; brother, Rex Louis Rossett; and nephew, Bryan Honshul.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, January 22, 2024 in the First Baptist Church of Gillis.  Pastor Glenn George will officiate.  Burial will follow in Squyres Methodist Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff.  Visitation will be in the church from 11:00 AM until the start of the service.
