Reba Fay Collins, 81 years old, passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2022. She was born on May 23, 1941 to Luke and Pearl Brister in Pitkin, LA.
She was a homemaker who lived and traveled many places while Ray was in the Air Force. She always missed “home” though. They made a final move home to Lake Charles several years ago to be close to family whom she loved dearly and was always concerned about. She spent many hours coloring as her therapy. She would finish one book and call Paula to tell her it was “Amazon time… I need a new book.”
Those left to cherish her memory are, her husband, Norvin Ray Collins, Jr., her sons, Tony Collins (Becky) and Rodney Collins; her daughter, Paula Forrester (Mark); her brothers, Everett (Lou) and Billy (Mary) Brister; her grandchildren, Mika, Tyler, Trevor and Brandon Collins, Daniel and Dawnelle Forrester; ten great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Irvin and Harley Brister; her sisters, Evelyn Williams and Helen Kulaga; and her grandson, Anthony Tait Collins.
A private family funeral service was held on Monday, June 13, 2022 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor John Astling was the officiant. Cremation was entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home of Lake Charles.
