Rebecca Humphrey

Rebecca Sue McCombs Humphrey, 85, of Lake Charles, LA, died peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, June 18, 2016.

Ms. Humphrey was born May 18, 1931 in Pineville, LA, where she graduated from Bolton High School and attended Alexandria Business College and lived in Lake Charles since 1956 where she worked as a legal secretary for twenty-six years and then worked for over twenty-five years with the Federal Government. She was a soft-spoken lady who loved the Lord and her family dearly.

Ms. Humphrey is survived by her daughter, Lori Jeffers; son, Joseph Bradley Humphrey and wife Laine; father of her children and close friend, Joe Humphrey; brothers, Richard McCombs and wife Marilyn and Wade McCombs and wife Rita; grandchildren, Sarah Jeffers, Katie Manuel, Adam Humphrey, Tyler Humphrey and Paige Miller; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Susan Miller; parents, Clifford and Gardie McCombs; sister, Josie Neil Antley and husband J.D.; and brother, Clifford McCombs.

Her graveside service will be held on 3:00 PM on Thursday, June 23, 2016 at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Pineville, LA. Visitation will be held at Johnson Funeral Home on Thursday from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM.
