Rebecca Jane Wienken

Rebecca Jane Wienken, 73, passed away on June 5, 2018 at a local hospital.

Becky grew up in Lacassine, LA and then attended McNeese State University. While in college she married her high school sweetheart and had 7 children. She moved to Texas in 1984 to raise 5 of her children and then moved home back to Louisiana in 2009. She was an active member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. Becky was a voracious reader and enjoyed crocheting and knitting for her family. Her daughters fondly remember the dresses she made for them while growing up. She is survived by 6 children, “Tubby”, “Hollie-Cakes”, “Budda”, “T-Beaster”, “Tse-Tse”, and “Granny”; 12 grandchildren; sister, Ruth Foreman; and her uncle, Leo LaRocque.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Lula Frank; son, “Stinky”; and 5 brothers, Johnny, Frank, Michael, Raymond, and James.

A funeral service will be held at Johnson Funeral Home at 11AM on Saturday, June 9, 2018. A private burial will follow at Broussard Cemetery. Pastor Michael Shamblin and Rev. Francis LaRocque will officiate. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday, June 8, from 5PM to 8PM. Visitation will continue at the funeral home Saturday at 10AM until the start of the service.
