Rebecca McCauley Vidrine, 67, of Grand Chenier passed away at 10:10 pm Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at St Patrick's hospital in Lake Charles, La.
Becky was born on April 10, 1945 in San Diego, CA. She grew up in Oberlin, La, the eldest of five children, graduating from Oberlin High as salutatorian in 1963. She graduated from McNeese State University with a Master's in Education.
Becky worked as a teacher and librarian for 33 years in the Cameron Parish School System. As a member of the Roman Catholic Church she was a devoted member of the legion of Mary and delivered Holy Communion to the home-bound. Her faith was the guiding force in her life and all whom she encountered were touched by her kindness, encouragement and generosity.
Those left to cherish her memory include her spouse of 47 years Clarence (Coach) Vidrine, Jr of Grand Chenier; two daughters Lori Vidrine of Scott, La, and Kristine Vidrine Hardee and husband Brian Hardee of Geismar, La. One son Barton Vidrine of Austin, TX; two grandchildren Jackson and Camille Hardee. She was preceded in death by her mother and father Helin and Louella McCauley, brothers Gentry and Malcolm McCauley.
Visitation will be held Friday from 3:00 PM with a rosary at 6:30 PM at Johnson Funeral Home in Lake Charles. Her Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday December 22, 2012 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Creole La, followed by a graveside service in Basile, La.
