Regina Emily Carlin

Regina Emily Carlin, 82, of Lake Charles, Louisiana, passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 in her residence.

Regina was born in Bellevue, Pennsylvania on May 27, 1935 to Lorraine and Thomas Carlin. While still living in Pittsburg, she obtained her associates degree in Nursing through the Ohio Valley General Hospital. After school Regina decided to serve our great nation in the United States Navy from 1958 until 1960 in the Nurses Corps at Great Lakes, Illinois. After the military she was living in Mississippi and then moved to Lake Charles, Louisiana, and spent 17 years focusing on raising her family. She returned to Nursing and started working as a Registered Nurse at Christus St. Patrick Hospital for 35 more years before retiring. Regina loved to pass her time by knitting and cherished her time with her children and spoiling her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her selfless and loving soul will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Cynthia Roberts and husband James, Randy McLaughlin and wife Mary, Daniel McLaughlin and wife Kayla, and Sarah Webster and husband Michael; brother, George Carlin; 11 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren.

Regina is preceded in death by her siblings; parents; and father of her children, Roy McLaughlin.

Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home.
