Rena Armentor O'Neal

Rena Armentor O'Neal, 86, passed away on Tuesday, August 31, 2010 in her home with her loving husband and family at her side.

Mrs. O'Neal was born on August 21, 1924 in Crowley, LA. She married Edward O'Neal on June 27, 1948. She lived most of her life in Lake Charles, where she was active with Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, and Little League while raising her sons. Mrs. O'Neal was a member of St. Margaret Catholic Church. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother; her family was her greatest passion. She also enjoyed cooking and family get-togethers, especially Christmas Eves.

Mrs. O'Neal is survived by her husband of sixty-two years, Edward O'Neal; four sons, Mike O'Neal of Lake Charles, Kenny (Gail) O'Neal of Baton Rouge, Russell (Dede) O'Neal of Lake Charles, and Jeff (Cheryl) O'Neal of Moss Bluff; nine grandchildren, Chris O'Neal, Marc (Lorin) O'Neal, David (Kayla) O'Neal, Phillip (Nicole) O'Neal, Michael (Courtney) O'Neal, Dru O'Neal, Timothy (Ashley) O'Neal, Spense O'Neal, and Ali O'Neal; and ten great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sidney and Clara Armentor; eight brothers, Relic, Ignace, Leo, Arthur, Jessie, Joe, Emile, and Stanley Armentor; sister, Edith Daws; and a grandson, Eric O'Neal.

Her funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on Friday, September 3, 2010 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Deacon Dan Landry will officiate. Burial will follow in Prien Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM with a scripture service at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Friday from 8:00 AM until the start of the service.
