Rena Comeaux Butts

Rena Comeaux Butts, 88, of Lake Charles died at 1:12 PM on Tuesday, March 6, 2012 in a nursing facility in Welsh, LA.

Mrs. Butts was born on August 12, 1923 in Lacassine, LA and lived most of her life in Lake Charles. She was a graduate of Lacassine High School as Salutatorian. Mrs. Butts was a retired nurse's assistant from Rosewood Nursing Home. Her passion in life was traveling.

Those left to cherish her memory are three sons, Conrad Butts, Jr. of Lake Charles, James A. Butts and wife Margaret of Grandlake, and Terry W. Butts of Lake Charles; two daughters, Betty Bult of Iowa and Judy Guthrie of Lake Charles; one sister, Wanda O'Neal and husband John of Iowa; nine grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; and seven great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Conrad Butts, Sr.; two grandsons, Kevin Bult and Derek Thibodeaux; daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Butts; three brothers, Clifton, Elton, and Wilton Comeaux; and a sister, Eula Miller.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, March 9, 2012 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Her nephew, Rev. Grady O'Neal, will officiate. Burial will be in Derouen-Lorraine Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM and will continue on Friday from 8:00 AM until the start of the service.
