Rena Geneva Doescher

Geneva Spears Doescher, who resided in Longville, died Thursday February 16, 2012 in the comfort of her home surrounded by her family.

She was born in Crowley, LA on June 13, 1931 and married Loyd Alton Doescher on December 15, 1950. A baptized witness of Jehovah, she served faithfully until her death. She was loved by all who knew her and loved all those she knew. She will be missed dearly. She was truly a selfless person who always put others needs ahead of her own.

She is survived by a son, Donald Kelly; daughter, Cynthia Doescher Hebert and husband Jackie; sister, Bertha Lucy Shea; three grandchildren, Jeremy Hebert and wife Denver, Corey Hebert and wife Julia and Dustin Hebert; six great-grandchildren, Megan, Tyler, Jacob, Rylie, Jackson and Lily Hebert; and many nieces and nephews, all who were dearly loved.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Loyd Doescher; her brothers, David and William Spears; and sister, Ruby Martarona.

Visitation will be from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM Saturday February 18, 2012 at Johnson Funeral Home and continue on Sunday from 10:00 AM until 3:00 PM. Funeral Services will be at Johnson Funeral Home at 3:00 PM Sunday February 19, 2012 with Brother Fred Davis officiating.
