Rene L. Doise, 83, of Lake Charles died at 3:10 PM on Friday, August 31, 2012 in a local hospital.

Mr. Doise was born in Elton on September 26, 1928 and lived in Lake Charles most of his life. He was a graduate of LaGrange High School. Mr. Doise served in the U. S. Navy for six years. He was highly involved at the VFW Post #2130 where he was twice Post Commander and Senior Vice President. Mr. Doise was instrumental in the building of the VFW RV Park. He retired from Davidson Chemical, a division of W.R. Grace, as an operating engineer after 38 years of service.

He enjoyed gardening and watching rodeos and western movies on television. In his earlier years he raised life stock.

Those left to cherish his memory are four children, Steve Doise and wife Kathy, Ronald Doise, and Marla Doise all of Lake Charles, and Pam Webb and husband Ryan of Allen, TX; one brother, Earl Doise and wife Zola of San Jose, CA; eleven grandchildren, Shannon Doise, Raegan Morvant, Carolyn Sue Meche, Tiffany Wildberger, Courtnie Doise, Rena Wildberger, Kelsey and Frances Doise, and Alexis, Priscilla, ad Mikayla Webb; and several great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Doise; a daughter, Sandra Renee Doise; a granddaughter, Karmyn Doise; and two siblings, Lillian Langley and Nellie Fontenot.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, September 3, 2012 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Chris Fuselier will officiate. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM until the start of the service.
