Renza Taussig Junk

September 22, 1928 — September 14, 2012



She was born September 22, 1928 in Natchez, Mississippi to Edward Holmes Taussig and Renza Brown. She passed on September 14, 2012 at Hillcrest Nursing Home in DeSoto, Missouri. She was a graduate of Natchez High School where she was a band majorette and Louisiana State University where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority.




She was very active in the church, serving on the Altar Guild and on the Bishop Noland Episcopal Day School Board. She was a substitute office receptionist and she served her community as President of the Junior League, United Way of Southwest Louisiana and Regent of the Louisiana Bayou Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, DAR Board Committee, American Cancer Society, Imperial Calcasieu Museum and was active in several other community organizations. She was also Queen for Krewe of Mystique.




She was preceded in death by her husband Virgil Sharp Junk, her mother Renza Brown Banks, her father Edward Holmes Taussig and her stepmother Florence Streater Taussig and her grandson Derek Edward Junk.




She is survived by her son Edward Junk wife Linda, her daughter Renza Junk Linnemeyer and husband Larry, granddaughters Kimberly Ann Linnemeyer, and Clarissa Junk Grossmann and husband Andrew; brother, James Edward Taussig and wife Karen; and numerous nieces and nephews.




Pallbearers are: Kimberly Ann Linnemeyer, George L. Paret, John St. Romain, Edward Taussig, Richard I. Walker and Richard Netterville. Edward Taussig IV is crucifer and Will Taussig is a reader.




Visitation will be Tuesday, September 18th, 2012 from 5pm until 7 pm at Johnson Funeral Home. There will be visitation and celebration of life from 9 until 11 am before the 11 am service at The Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd. Fr. Jack Myers and Fr. Jim Lukenhoff will officiate. Burial will be in Prien Memorial Park.
