Rev. Ellis M. Lebouef, Jr.

November 21, 1943 — January 15, 2011

"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith; Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day; and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing." ~ 2 Timothy 4:7-8~

On, January 15, 2011, Ellis M. LeBouef, Jr., 67, of Lake Charles left this world behind to be with his Heavenly Father. Reverend LeBouef passed away at a local hospital.

At an early age he gave his life and his voice to God to do with as He pleased. Rev. LeBouef held many positions during his lifetime including rising to the rank of Major in the U. S. Army. He taught many in the Lake Charles area and their children music in the public school system and worked as a detective for the Calcasieu parish Sheriff's Department. He worked in Security Administration and later Safety Specialist at the Strategic Oil Reserve. However his number one priority, the most important thing in his life, was serving God, always putting Him first in his life. Reverend LeBouef served as Music and Choir Director and then Pastor in many of the Southern Baptist Churches in this area. He was always a loving, kind, faithful, gentle, and generous man. When he entered Heaven's Gates, God's words to him were, "Well done my good and faithful servant, enter in and welcome home my child".

He was married, forty-five years to Janila Bradford LeBouef. Ellis was the proud father of five children, Loran Lane LeBouef of Lake Charles, Michael Chadwick LeBouef of Austin, TX; daughters, Laura Lynne LeBouef Duhon and husband Edward, and Tanya Marie LeBouef Davis and husband Anthony, all of Lake Charles; and was blessed with ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren. His son, Marty LeBouef, precedes him in death. He is also survived by a brother, Lynn LeBouef and wife Cathy of Tomball, TX

His funeral will be at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverends Francis LaRocque and Randy Monroe will officiate. Burial will be in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00PM until 9:00 PM, Tuesday, and continue from 9:00 Am until time of services, Wednesday, in the funeral home.

The LeBouef family expresses their deepest gratitude to all his caregivers, especially his personal physician, Dr. Edward Hebert. We also thank everyone for all the prayers during his illness.
