Rev. Leroy Talmage Little

Rev. Leroy Talmage Little, 80, was called home by his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on Friday, March 18, 2011.

Born in Sabine Parish, Louisiana to Jabez Talmage and Martha Anna Blue Little, Rev. Little lived his life telling others of Jesus. He served along with his wife as a missionary in Burundi, Africa from 1951 until 1975 with World Gospel Mission. They returned to Lake Charles in 1979, where he served as pastor of First Southern Methodist Church from 1980 until 1990 and Pastor of Living Hope Bible Ministries from 2002 to 2005. He was currently attending services at Trinity Nazarene Church, sharing with the fellowship there his love for the Lord and his knowledge of the scriptures. Rev. Little served on World Gospel Missions Board and Congregational Methodist Church Mission Board. He also served on the local Salvation Army Advisory Board for many years, where he acted as chairman for two years.

Rev. Little is survived by his wife of sixty years, Gene Bailey Little of Moss Bluff; sons Kerry Little and wife Sheron of Mobile, Alabama, Glen Little and wife Janice of Brandon, Mississippi and Eldon Little of Grand Isle; brothers Archie, William and Herman Little of Monroe, and Daniel Little of West Monroe; sisters Ann Wilson of Pawhuska, OK and Louise Morris of Delhi, Louisiana; daughter-in-law Edna Little of Gillis; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Gerald Little and Bruce Little.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 21, 2011, at Johnson Funeral Home. Rev. Raymond Teston and Rev. Edwin Fenton will officiate. Interment will be at Magnolia Cemetery in Ragley. Visitation will be on Sunday from 4 until 9 p.m. and on Monday from 8 a.m. until service time.
