Rev. Leslie Smith Cook

March 11, 1921 — May 2, 2011

Rev. Leslie Smith Cook, 90, of Lake Charles, went home to be with the Lord, Monday, May 02, 2011.


Rev. Cook was born and raised in Alcolu, SC, lived twenty years in the San Diago, CA and has lived the past thirty five years in Lake Charles. Rev. Cook served in the United States Air Force for thirteen years.


Rev. Cook loved the study and sharing of God's Word, enjoyed working on cars, motors, body work and the challenge of custom work.


He will be most remembered for his greatest love, The Lord and his wife.


He leaves to honor his memory, two sons, Rev. Jack L. Cook and wife Lucy of Fort Worth, TX and Rev. John I. Cook and wife Jerri Ann of Riverside, CA; ten grandchildren; twenty two great- grandchildren; five great- great- grandchildren; two brothers, Gerald Cook and wife Gracie of Albany, GA and Edger Cook of El Cajon, CA and one sister, Janie Ray Barrows and husband Gordon of Atlanta, GA.


He was preceded in death by his loving wife of sixty- nine years, Una May Boudin Cook; parents, William Z. Sr. and Ada Irene Cook and four brothers, Carl, W.Z., Ivan and Herman Cook.


Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Thursday, May 05, 2011 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend's Jack and John Cook will officiate. Interment will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery. Visitation Thursday will be from 12:00 PM until the time of service in the funeral home.
