Reyes "Ray" Alaniz, 70, passed away on Saturday, November 2, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Ray loved to build boats, he built boats most of his younger life. He went on to work in warehousing until he got to where he couldn't work any longer. He lived in Missouri most of his life until the past 11 years when he moved to Louisiana. Ray loved fishing. He was a person that made people laugh. Ray loved his kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. They were his life. Ray was a sweet brother and a loving father who loved his family very much. He was just a loving person that everybody loved and he will be greatly missed.
Those left to cherish Ray's memory are his daughter, Elisa Hobbs; son, Shannon Alaniz; brothers, Jesse, Fidel; sisters, Olvia, Josie, Petra, Lucy, Lupy, Janie, Mary; 7 grandkids and 10 great grandkids.
Ray is preceded in death by his parents, Fidel and Petra Alaniz; brothers, Tony, Joe, Johnny, Frank; grandchild, Kyle Alaniz; great grandchildren, Olive, Willow; ex-wife, Debbie Alaniz.
A funeral service for Ray will be held at 1 PM on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at Johnson Funeral Home of Sulphur. The family will receive friends on Wednesday starting at 11 AM until time of the service. Words of comfort for the family may be left at www.johnsonfuneralhome.net.
