Rhonda Fuselier Carter

July 7, 1959 — November 1, 2012

Rhonda Fuselier Carter, 53, died Thursday, November 1, 2012, in Houston, Texas, following a bravely fought battle with cancer.


Born and raised in Lake Charles, Louisiana to Orese Fuselier and Joy Faye Edwards Fuselier, Rhonda attended Lake Charles High School, where she was a member of the Kilties, graduating in 1977. Upon graduation, she worked as an administrative assistant for a number of different employers in Lake Charles, including Himont, Montell and Basell. Rhonda dearly loved life and enjoyed the company of her family and friends, to whom she brought light and laughter and joy. She was courageous and ever hopeful, regardless of her circumstance. She was a member of the Baptist faith.


Rhonda is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Roger C. Carter of League City, Texas; one son, Kale Crain of Lake Charles; one daughter, Maggie Carter of League City; her mother, Joy Fuselier of Ragley; one sister, Carla Fuselier Thomason of Ragley and five brothers, Foster Fuselier of Peculiar, Missouri, Charles Fuselier and Marcus Fuselier, both of Lake Charles, Randy Carrol of Sulphur, and Allen Fuselier of Eunice, LA.


She was preceded in death by her father, Orese Fuselier, and nephew Brian Scott Fuselier.


Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, November 6, 2012, at Johnson Funeral Home in Lake Charles. Reverend Chris Fuselier will officiate. Interment will be at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday from 4 until 9 p.m. and will resume on Tuesday at 8 a.m. until service time.


A memorial service for friends in League City will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 10, 2012, at Crowder Funeral Home, 1645 East Main Street, League City, Texas.
