Rhonda Lee Morgan Davis, 64, of Lake Charles, LA, died at 3:52 PM on Wednesday, September 18, 2019 in a local care facility, surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Davis was born February 25, 1955 in Lake Charles, LA and was a 1973 graduate of LaGrange High School. She received her Bachelor of Education from McNeese State University and taught a few years at Welsh Elementary School. She had a great love of teaching children and began private childcare from her residence and homeschooled many family members throughout the years. She was an active member of Bethel Presbyterian Church, where her husband pastored for twelve years. “RoRo”, as she was affectionately known, enjoyed watching movies, coloring, reading and always kept her family events organized. She will be most remembered for her beautiful smile, her kind and generous heart and as a prayer warrior.
Mrs. Davis is survived by her son, Ryan Davis and wife Meg of Portland, OR; daughters, Elizabeth Davis Daigle and husband Woodrow of Sulphur, Kimberlee Davis and Jacquelyn Davis, both of Lake Charles; brothers, Kurt Morgan and wife Lesley of Beaumont, TX, Troy Morgan, and Robin Morgan and wife Jamie; sisters, Tracie Ardoin and husband Jay and Lisa Morgan, all of Lake Charles; five grandchildren, Adam, Augustus, and Lucy Daigle, Jasmine Davis and Mavis Bourgeois and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Ronald D. Davis; and her parents, Leonard and Leota Rose Morgan.
Her funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Ben Thomason will officiate. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and continue on Saturday from 11:00 AM until the start of the service.
