Richard Arthur Dick Williams, 91, of Lake Charles passed away Sunday, June 09, 2013 in a local healthcare facility.
Mr. Williams was born, raised and educated in Chariton, Iowa. He served the United States Army Air Corps during World War II. During his younger years, Mr. Williams retired a Letter Carrier with the United States Postal Service. He also worked many years as a Carpenter with the Local Union # 953, a Security Guard with Zapata Haney and a Custodian with Calcasieu Marine National Bank. He enjoyed playing cards and loved flower gardening and working in his yard. He was of Assembly of God faith.
He leaves to honor his memory, four children, Yvonne Stevens of Sour Lake, TX, Don Williams and wife Tommi Jo of Yuma, AZ, Arthur Steele of Malvern, AR and Richard Ricky Williams and wife Linda of Moss Bluff; eight grandchildren, Stephanie Stevens Langston of Seabrook, TX, Jennifer Nevils and husband Chad of Sour Lake, TX, Charles Stevens and wife Heather of Fort Polk, Jodi Wight of Yuma, AZ, Ricky Lane Steele and Shane Ray Steele, Lake Charles, Corey Steele of Malvern, AR and Angel Nicole Farque and husband Brantley of Moss Bluff; ten great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Zelma Jeanette Williams; a grandson, John Balun; parents, three brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 12, 2013 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Ed Rose will officiate. Interment will follow in Old Ritchie Cemetery. Visitation Tuesday will be from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM and will continue Wednesday from 8:00 AM until the time of service in the funeral home.
