Richard Calvin Travis

Richard Calvin Travis, 77, died Monday July 4, 2011 in a local hospital.

He was born in Adrian Michigan, and a resident of Lake Charles, La.

Mr. Travis was owner and operator of Rick's Bait Shop and Rick's Super Wash. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and he also was a professional shrimper and crabber; he also enjoyed oystering and alligator hunting.

Mr. Travis is survived by his loving wife Dorothy Louis Travis; Daughter, Sharon Faye Istre and husband Samuel Jude Istre Sr. of Lake Charles ; Granddaughter Kristina Talbert and husband Chris of Lake Charles; Grandson Samuel J. Istre Jr.; Great Grandson Carson Talbert of Lake Charles; and cousins in Michigan and California.

He was preceded in death by his parents Glenn and Dorothia Travis of Adrian, Michigan.

Visitation will be at Johnson Funeral Home Tuesday from 4 till 8 PM with a Scripture service at 7 PM. Services will be at 10 AM Wednesday July 6, 2011 at Johnson Funeral Home.
