Richard Daniel Shay

Richard Daniel Shay, 60, of Sulphur, LA passed away on March 29, 2021 in a Baton Rouge, LA hospital.

Richard was born on June 4, 1960 in Crowley, LA to James and Doreen Shay. He was a lifelong heavy equipment operator and loved being in the great outdoors riding many miles on his Harley. He had a bond with his boys Daniel and Tyler like no other, they were his best friends and his world. He loved working cattle, riding motorcycles, and ATVs over his lifetime.

Those left to cherish his memory are his two loving sons, Daniel Scott Shay and girlfriend Lela Crosby, Tyler Kade Shay and girlfriend Jamie Vincent; three grandchildren, Aden Thierbach, Oaklyn Shay, and Liam Kole Shay; sister, Djuna Shay Mcgowan; brother, Michael Wayne Shay; mother, Doreen Shay; and lifelong best friend, Becky McNabb.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Aimee Ivera Breaux and father, James Shay.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM Thursday, April 1, 2021 at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. A time of visitation and fellowship will begin at 12:00 PM until 3:00 PM on Thursday, April 1, 2021 at Johnson and Robison Funeral. Brother James McCartney will officiate services.

Cremation was entrusted to Johnson and Robison Funeral Home.
