Richard Dow

August 7, 1968 — July 24, 2024

Richard Dow, 55, passed away at his residence on July 24, 2024.

He was born on August 7, 1968 in Mountain View, Washington to Kevin and Elaine Dow. He moved to the Lake Charles area in 1999 to work for the Lake Charles Ice Pirates hockey team. He was a sports enthusiast and radio broadcaster for several local teams including McNeese Baseball, Football, and Basketball. Richard also served as General Manager for various sports teams including the Lake Charles Swashbucklers.
Over the last several years he enjoyed working at his dream job managing Moss Bluff Parks and Recreation. He always wanted the community to be proud of their programs and facilities.

Richard was a devoted family man who enjoyed spending time with his family and always made sure sports were a part of any family gathering. His dry sense of humor and vast knowledge of movies and sports will always be remembered. He will be dearly missed by his family and community.
