Richard Dwayn Felice

Richard Dwayn Felice, 71, passed away peacefully at home in Crowley, LA with his family by his side on Thursday, September 14, 2023.

He was born on September 2, 1952 in Baytown, Texas to J.W. and Winnie Felice. Richard was known for his strong work ethic. He often said, “take care of your job because your job takes care of you.” He worked in the plants for many years as a welder and machinist before going to work for Lafayette Utilities System (LUS) where he eventually retired. Richard loved gardening and cooking and watching cooking shows.

He made an excellent seafood gumbo and potato salad and ribs. He loved his dogs, Lil Bit, Jack, Rascal, and even a stray, Bonita.

He is survived by his two daughters, Pamela Felice (Francisco Barajas) and Crystal Felice (David Sulak); grandchildren, Rainy Weems, Jake Tyler Marthiljohni, Starry Collins, and Kaylynn Collins; great grandchild, Crayson Weems; siblings, Evelyn Partain, Jerry Felice, and Gene Felice; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, J.W. and Winnie Felice; and brother, Ernest Felice.

His funeral service will be held at Johnson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff on Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at 11 a.m. Rev. Greg Cavenah will officiate. Burial will take place in Beauregard Memorial Cemetery following the service. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the start of the service.
