Richard Earl Stanley

Richard Earl Stanley, 59 passed away on February 20, 2014. Richard was born in Sulphur and lived most of his life in Edgerly. He was a 1973 graduate of Vinton High School where he broke many track records. Richard worked as a carpenter in construction and also for the past three years as a loyal employee for the Sausage Link. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church in Edgerly, member of NRA National Rifle Association, member of North American Hunting Club, and an avid deer hunter. In his young years Richard loved to have china ball fights. He lived the dash between his birth and his death. Richard is survived by his two daughters, Brittany Welch and husband, Michael of Sulphur and Shawnna Stanley and fianc, Devin Rodgers of Sulphur, OK; 3 grandchildren, Mylee LeJeune, Ayden LeJeune and Maidalyn Welch; 3 brothers, Grant Stanley and wife, Frances of Edgerly, Pat Stanley and wife, Sharyn of Sulphur and Foster Stanley and wife, Karen of Nederland, TX; sister, Margarette Parker and husband, Louis of Rochester, NH; 2 cousins; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Grant and Nellie Rosalie Stanley. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Russell Beard officiating. Burial will be in Big Woods Cemetery in Edgerly under the direction of Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Monday, February 24, 2014 from 3-9 p.m. at the funeral home and will resume on Tuesday from 8 a.m. until time of the service.
