Larry LaBove, age 73, passed away Thursday, December 30, 2010, at his residence.
A native and life long resident of Creole, he worked for Crain Brothers, Inc. for over 43 years, retiring as a supervisor. Mr. LaBove was a lifetime member of the Louisiana Cattleman Association and the Louisiana Farm Bureau. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. Preceding him in death was his parents, Burton and Elma LaBove, a son, Lawrence LeBeouf, and a sister, Nelva Courville. Mr. LaBove will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his wife, Geraldine LaBove of Bell City; two daughters, Recia Willis of Creole, and Lori Theriot and husband, Vince of Grand Chenier; three sons, Scott LaBove and wife, Exann, Brady LaBove and wife, Debbie, and Brad Trahan all of Lake Charles; one brother, Evans LaBove of Bell City; one sister, Margaret Zimmerman of Lake Charles; his grandchildren, Lex Theriot, Haley Willis, Shelby Willis, Sage LaBove, Laney Theriot, Jada LaBove, Grant LaBove, and Kannon Guilbeau; and one great-grandson, Andon Baccigalopi.
His funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 1, 2011, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Creole. Father Tim Goodly will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning on Friday, December 31, from 3:30 p.m. until 10 p.m. and again on Saturday, January 1, from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. A rosary will be prayed Friday evening at 6:30 p.m. The family would like extend their sincere gratitude to The Heart of Hospice Group and especially Cheryl Trahan.
