Richard Leslie Knox, 80, of Moss Bluff died Wednesday, July 6, 2011 in the comfort of his home.
Mr. Knox was born in Sweetwater, TX, raised and educated in Fort Worth, TX and has lived thirty-two years in Moss Bluff. He worked most of his life in management in the construction industry. He was an avid fisherman and also enjoyed working in his vegetable gardens. Mr. Knox will be most remembered for his "witty" sense of humor.
He leaves to honor his memory, his loving wife of 62 years, Wilma "Corky" Knox of Moss Bluff; five children, Clydeen Tompkins and husband David of Tuscaloosa, AL, Leslie Cook of San Antonio, TX, Philip Knox and wife Suzanne, Kim Fletcher and husband Stuart, and Tammy Knox, all of Moss Bluff; seven grandchildren, Matthew Tompkins and wife Terri of Tuscaloosa, AL, Andrew Tompkins and Ericka Tucker of CA, Gabriel Knox of Reno, NV, Justin Knox and wife Chere' of Moss Bluff, Amber Roth and husband Hunter of Norman, OK and Kaylen and Kensie Fletcher, both of Moss Bluff and five great- grandchildren.
Memorial services will be 11:00 AM Friday, July 8, 2011 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Felton Thibodeaux will officiate. Gathering of friends will be from 10:00 AM until the time of service in the funeral home.
Mr. Knox family would like to express sincere gratitude to Christina "aka" Clementine, for her excellence care during this difficult time.
