Richard Michael Sohrwide Ii

Richard Michael Sohrwide, II, 54, of Lake Charles, LA, died at 9:06 AM on Tuesday, November 3, 2020 in his residence.

Richard was born January 29, 1966 in Lake Charles, LA, where he was a lifelong resident and attended Lake Charles High School.  He worked as an insurance salesman and later as a roofer and was a past member of St. Margaret Catholic Church.  Richard was an avid fisherman and enjoyed spending time on the water.  He also had a great love for his pets, Quick, Bunny, and Sam.

Richard is survived by his mother, Doris Sohrwide of Lake Charles; sisters, Dianna Guillory of Lake Charles, Carolyn Vanatta and husband Merritt of DeRidder, Cynthia Slaydon and husband Dane of Pitkin, LA and Regina Brock of Oklahoma City, OK; and numerous nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Michael Sohrwide; and brothers-in-law, David Guillory and Keith Brock.

His funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on Friday, November 6, 2020 at University Baptist Church, under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.  Deacon Anthony Pousson will officiate.  Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery.  Visitation will be at the church from 10:00 AM until the start of the service.
