Richard Rick Alan Mcgrath

Richard Alan Rick McGrath, 52, of San Antonio, TX passed away, Monday, October 8, 2012 in San Antonio.

Rick was born in Ridley Park, PA and was raised, educated and lived twenty years in Lake Charles. He was a graduate of Lake Charles High School. He worked most of his life in the Auto Parts Industry as a Manager and in sales, primarily for General Parts, Inc (Carquest Auto Parts). Rick was very well known for helping others. He took great pride in helping friends, strangers on the side of the road, serving community holiday dinners and was a very familiar face of Special Olympics and many other charitable organizations. He also enjoyed music, car shows, college football and was an avid NASCAR fan. Rick will be most remembered for his laugh and love of having a good time. He will be missed by many whose lives he touched.

He leaves to honor his memory, his loving wife, Rhonda Germany of San Antonio, TX; one daughter, Andrea Nicole Mohrhaus and husband Craig of Woodstock, GA; one son, Stuart Chase McGrath and wife Shelly of Beaumont, TX; one step-son, Tony Hernandez of San Antonio; his mother, Bea McGrath of Lake Charles; one sister, Carol Martin and husband John of Lake Charles; three brothers, Ken McGrath and wife Carla of Huntersville, NC, Joe McGrath and wife Barbara of Georgetown, TX and Mike McGrath and wife Andrea of Baton Rouge. He also leaves many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert McGrath.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Friday, October 12, 2012 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Johnny Johnson will officiate. Visitation Thursday will be from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM and will continue Friday from 12:00 PM until the time of service in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Morgan's Wonderland, a children's handicapped amusement park in San Antonio. (5223 David Edwards Drive, San Antonio, TX 78233)
