Richard "Ricky" Duplechian, Jr.

Richard “Ricky” Duplechian, Jr., 68, of Dry Creek, LA, left this world to be with the Lord on Friday, February 23, 2018 at High Hope Care Center.

Mr. Duplechian was born on July 19, 1949 in Houston, TX to Irene and Richard Duplechian, Sr. He attended Lamar Salter and studied air conditioning and refrigeration. Mr. Duplechian loved to be outdoors fishing and gardening. He was a jack-of-all-trades, loved watching football and enjoyed making wine, making sausage, cooking, and carpentry. Mr. Duplechian loved dancing, listening to music, and singing with his brother, daughters, and sons-in-law. He was a devoted catholic who loved his family and cherished his grandchildren.

Left to cherish Mr. Duplechian’s memory are his daughters, Racheal Miller and husband Ben of Scott, LA, LaRae Cox of Scott, LA, Crystal Gaspard and husband T.J. of Bremond, TX, Tammy Gautreaux and husband Jake of Sulphur, LA, Sherrie Harper and husband Wesley of Mannford, OK, and Ashley Furr and husband Kendall of Longville, LA; grandchildren, Logan, Baylen, Gavin, Bailee, Brooklyn, Hunter, Jaden, Kylie, Brylee, Bethany, Jenna, Cole, Heath, Kennedy, Case, and Kendalyn; siblings, Michael Duplechian of Oberlin, LA, Shawn Cruz and husband Ben of Lake Charles, and Tina Wireman and husband Steve also of Lake Charles.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Lois Duplechian; son, Randall Dale Duplechian; and his parents.

Mr. Duplechain’s funeral Mass will be held at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Carlyss, LA on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at 10:00 AM. Father Luke Krzanowski will officiate. Burial will be at Dry Creek Cemetery in Dry Creek, LA. Visitation will be on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at Johnson Funeral Home from 11:00 AM until 9:00 PM with a Cursillo Rosary being recited at 7:00 PM. Visitation will resume at Johnson Funeral home on Wednesday morning at 8:00 AM until 9:15 AM with a procession to St. Theresa Catholic Church for the funeral Mass.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that masses be said on Mr. Duplechian’s behalf.
