Richard W. “Rick” Bagley passed away in a local hospital on September 10, 2018. He was born on November 23, 1957 to the late William and Sue McDaniel Bagley.
Mr. Bagley was a resident of Westlake having moved from Lake Charles in 1989 and was the owner/operator of Bagley Crane Service. Rick was a graduate of LaGrange High School and an inductee of the Calcasieu Parish and Louisiana State Bowling Hall of Fame. He coached baseball and softball for the Westlake Recreational League and was also the manager of the Thunder Baseball/Softball Tournament Teams.
Rick was the President of Gill Island Hunting Club and he was an avid outdoorsman, loving to hunt and fish. Most of all, Rick loved to spend time with his family and friends.
Rick was an active member of Friendship Baptist Church from 1997-2001 where he was active in the building program. Since then he has been a faithful member of Sale Street Baptist Church where he served on many projects and mission trips.
Rick is preceded in death by his parents, William Bagley and Sue Huber, his sister, Twilla Fontenot, two brothers, Mark Huber and William Bagley, Jr. He is also preceded by his step-fathers, Sammy Huber and A.J. Blanchette.
Mr. Bagley is survived by his wife Annette, two sons, Jay (Telia) Francis of Bundick Lake and Richie (Haley) Bagley of DeQuincy and two daughters, Courtney (Jason) Westerkamp of The Woodlands, TX and Rylee Bagley of Westlake and eleven grandchildren. He is also survived by his six sisters, Kitty (Richard) Bruns of Lake Charles, Donna (David) Tanner of Lake Charles, Gail (Arnold) Hinton of Lake Charles, Natalie (Cecil) Huber of Grand Lake, Hollie (Steve) George of Lake Charles and Glenda (Ian) Snyder of Hot Springs, Ark. Rick has eight brothers, Mike (Mary Beth) Huber of Lake Charles, Larry (Cathy) Huber of Moss Bluff, David (Katie) Huber of Moss Bluff, Chuck (Elaine) Huber of Lake Charles, Todd (Vicki) Huber of Moss Bluff, Phillip Huber of Lake Charles, Paul (Christina) Huber of Washington, D.C., and James Blanchette of DeQuincy; brother-in-law, Johnny Fontenot of Heath, TX.
The family will receive friends at Sale Street Baptist Church on Friday, September 14, 2018 from 5-8PM. Visitation will continue at the church at 10AM on Saturday, September 15, 2018 with funeral services beginning at 11AM, officiated by Revs. Randy Edwards, Kent Shepherd and Tim Robles. Burial will be at the New Campground Cemetery in Sugartown, LA under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.
Serving as pallbearers will be Richie Bagley, Jay Francis, Shane Hinton, Devon Miller, Trent Warner and Keith Stevens.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Sale Street Baptist Church, Reap the Harvest Campaign.
