Rita Jeanette Brady

Rita J. Barnett Brady, 71, left this world peacefully on Sunday September 25, 2016 at her residence, surrounded by her loving and faithful family.

Rita was a native of Benton Harbor, Michigan and a resident of Southwest Louisiana for the past 30 years.  She and her husband owned and operated Branet, Inc. for 23 years and are of the Catholic faith.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 52 years, William J. Brady, Jr.; one son, Michael Brady and wife Rhonda of Vinton; two daughters, Mary Kay Holifield and husband David, of Kaiserslautern, Germany; and Brenda Yorks and husband Matthew, of Lake Charles, LA; seven grandchildren, Aaron Voss, Matthew Voss, William Brady, Allyson Yorks, Michael Brady, Charles Yorks, Moira Brunelle; eight great grandchildren, her father, Doyle Barnett of San Antonio, Texas; two brothers, Kelly and Scott Barnett, both of Kentucky; four sisters, Joni Lynn Watson, also of Kentucky, Becky Ann Duch of Honduras, Julie Gwen Day of Louisiana, and Vicki Gail Troxell of North Carolina; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. She was preceded in death by her mother, Rachel New Barnett.

The family would like to thank all of the friends and extended family for their support and prayers during this time. Also, to Brighton Bridge Hospice, especially Michele Phillips, RN and Joyce Fischer, LPN for their compassionate and loving care shown to their beloved Rita.

At the Request of Rita, no memorial services will be held. Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home.
